Design and Front End


We have been defining, designing and delivering Interactive projects for more than 14 years. We work on Design and Technically focused projects across Websites, Mobile / Tablet Apps and E-Publishing.

We effectively fuse creativity and technology, putting your goals and users first. We’ll work with you on planning your ideas, from paper to screen, merging Brand and User Interface design practice. From wireframes, concept design and prototyping to Usability, UI and HTML 5 Development. We are also experts in delivering on cross platform and responsive design, thinking about content and how it performs across widescreen, tablet, mobile, e-reader and beyond.

Our design and front end skills are proven and trusted as demonstrated by the range of incredible clients we’ve worked with over the last decade including McLaren, Boots, Mr Men, Hachette and Pearson.

Programming and Development


Bionic aims to deliver clear and elegant solutions to complex technical challenges. Our talented developers love what they do, they thrive on applying innovation and creativity in the latest technologies to deliver robust and user centred answers to clients needs.

We are constantly working with the evolving landscape of technology and platforms, developing our Content Management System, Website Integration with 3rd party systems, Browser and Desktop Application development and Mobile App Development across iOS, Android and Windows Mobile.

We use a variety of development platforms and database including .NET, SQL Server, mySQL, Java and Wordpress and have integrated with a myriad of web services, API’s, data sources and legacy systems including Google Maps, Protx / Sage Pay, PostcodeAnywhere, Equifax, CallCredit and Amazon S3.

Paul heads up our technical development across web, mobile and application development.

Prior to joining bionicmedia in 2003 , Paul worked as web development consultant on major web, database and software based projects for companies such as the MOD, Bank of England, American Express, Hewlett Packard and the World Health Organisation. He was also Movie Director, Stanley Kubrik’s go-to I.T consultant for several years.

Dave Huff

Dave HuffProduction Director

Dave has ultimate responsibility for all of the front-end delivery and production work at Bionic

Before founding bionicmedia, David was head of online development at McLaren (formula 1 and road car). His responsibilities ranged across intranet, extranet ,internet and CD-rom development and strategies.

Previous to McLaren Dave had worked as an independent producer / developer on freelance projects with major London agencies for clients such as First Direct, Microsoft and BT and in software development for a global software house.

Our History

Bionic Media was formed in 1999 when our assorted world visionaries decided to strike out on their own from the senior jobs they held at major companies such as Firefly, Saatchi and McLaren Formula One to strive for global domination. We believed that our skill-sets could be applied in servicing the same level of client in a more agile, proactive and ultimately enjoyable agency environment down in sunny Brighton.

Now

Since then, we’ve gone up, down and round the corner, had lots of children and have managed to grow our turnover and profit each year for the last five years. Along the way we’ve also been highly selective with recruitment and managed to find fantastic, adaptable people to work together with. In 2006 we integrated a small software development firm Decoder Software into the business which opened up new business channels for us and brought onboard some excellent skills.

In 2007 we bought our own office building, a converted Victorian terrace that used to be the Chapel of Rest for the nearby Funeral parlour. (Dead nice it was.) Now at the end of 2013 we moved in to our beautiful new studio at the Levellers-owned building Metway Studios.

As a thriving and successful multi-discipline design team our core values are based upon the strength of our people, encouraging open channels of communication, applying cutting edge thinking to all problems and building solid and long term partnerships with our clients.

We have gained strong footholds in the Industries of Television and Publishing as our reputation for reliability and quality work has spread. We now produce award winning campaigns across the media for major publishing houses and our Content Management System and Streaming technology now underpin some really BIG players’ websites in TV Production and Distribution.

We don’t just work in the Media, in fact our work has ranged across many industries incorporating Big Brands, SME’s and the Public Sector . We are always keen to take on the challenge of a new sector.

We’re not looking to grow exponentially or make any drastic changes; actually we’re pretty happy with where we are.
